Dr. Lakhwinder Dhillon went to school at the Punjab Agricultural University, India . he received his Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) in 1989 and later received his Master of Veterinary Science (MVSc) in Veterinary Surgery and Radiology with Merit in 1999. Dr. Dhillon has many years of experience working with and treating both large and small animals. He practiced as a small and large animal veterinarian for 10 years in India. In 2000, he moved to Canada and practiced in a small animal clinic for 4 years before moving to Chicago, IL in 2005 where he began working at Banfield as the Chief-of-Staff Veterinarian. Five years later, he decided to open his own business and opened the Elgin Animal Clinic. Dr. Dhillon’s favorite part about being a doctor is saving an animal’s life. Seeing the life return to the eyes of the sick animals is the most rewarding factor in this field. We may not be able to save them all, but with each one that slips away from us, we make changes in our protocol to improve our chances for the next one that comes in. In his free time, Dr. Dhillon likes to relax at home watching the Discovery Channel, CNN, or Fox news and spending time with his wife and two children.
